About Mandy
Mandy grew up in Wisconsin, where she attended Marian University in Fond du Lac, WI. In 2012, she received her Bachelor’s of Science in Music Education with a minor in Jazz Studies. Flute was her primary instrument.
Mandy moved to Minnesota after graduating, where she taught private music lessons in Edina, MN on: flute, piccolo, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, tuba, snare drum, xylophone, piano, and voice. She also taught an early childhood music class for children ages 18 months-3 years.
In 2013, Mandy moved to Maryland. She taught at Music and Arts in Frederick, MD until 2019, teaching lessons on: flute, piccolo, clarinet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, and trumpet. She also taught early childhood music and movement.
In addition to teaching music lessons, Mandy worked at The Banner School in Frederick, MD from 2015-2022. She was the Preschool Director, PreK teacher, and Kindergarten teacher. Mandy enjoyed supplementing classroom activities with music. She taught her students facts through songs and she encouraged their gross motor development through movement activities. Listening, teamwork, and collaboration skills are also taught through music.
Mandy began teaching at Major Arcana Music Studio in Frederick, MD in 2019 where she taught flute and clarinet lessons, as well as Magical Music Adventures (early childhood music and movement class). In 2020, Mandy decided to open her own studio, Mandy’s School of Music. Mandy went full time with the studio in 2022.
Mandy is excited to offer lessons on all band instruments at Mandy’s School of Music. In addition to lessons, Mandy offers a variety of musicianship and theory classes for students of all ages. Mandy offers an individualized approach to lessons in order to support a variety of interest levels. Do you want to learn an instrument as a hobby? Mandy will make sure you have a strong base of foundational music skills so you can play fun music in any context you would like. Are you an advanced musician looking for a challenge? Mandy offers a variety of technical skills, exercises, standard repertoire and resources to continue the expansion of your skills.
